9/21/2023 0 Comments Microsoft office 2011 dmgHowever, I'm not having any luck migrating Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac. I have successfully migrated two applications (Aperture and Photoshop). I have a few 32 bit apps that won't work so I am migrating them over to an older iMac running High Sierra. Upon installation, you may want to read my article on how to Reduce visual clutter in Microsoft Word.I want to upgrade my Mojave iMac to Catalina. Discovering those is left as an exercise to the reader. If you do not have either of those you can use a trial version of Office, but I do not know what kinds of limitations it places on you. The first time you run it, you will be asked for your license code or Office 365 subscription information. Using this installer will not give you free access to Microsoft Office 2011. The only difference that I am aware of is that installing Microsoft Office using these scripts does not automatically add the apps to your OS X Dock. However, there's a chance that I could be wrong. Disclaimer and Final NotesĪs far as I know, installing Office 2011 this way gives you the same result as if you had installed using OS X's Installer.app on the various pkg files directly. It is also a good time to set the auto-updater to run as often as you'd like it to run automatically. This will make sure that there are no additional updates needed which have been released since this script was written. Once the installation finishes, Microsoft's Auto Update app will be launched. Note that you will have to enter your administrator password to use sudo. Using Terminal is like getting under the hood of your car: it shouldn't scare you, but you shouldn't just go randomly poking around either.ġ) download the installer script (this should all be one line): How to use this script (The Nerdy Way)Ī better way to use this script requires the Terminal.app which is found in /Applications/Utilities/. If you tried it before and it did not work, please try again. Update : I have updated the information at GitHub to include a walk-through of using the GUI Installer application. You will be prompted to enter your administrator password because the installation cannot continue without it. Once you confirm that you want to download and install Office, the rest will take place behind the scenes. Please note that because of Gatekeeper settings in OS X, you may have to right click the installer app and choose open in order to get it to launch. This is an Automator app which will simply download and run the office2011.sh for you. Once the script finishes, it will run "Microsoft AutoUpdate.app" to make sure that there are not additional updates necessary. Microsoft AutoUpdate for Mac 2.3.6 Update Microsoft Error Reporting for Mac 2.2.9 Update Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 with Service Pack 2 (14.2.0) The script will look for files in ~/Downloads/Office2011/ and if they already exist, it will not download them again. Once the script is finished, the necessary files will be available in ~/Downloads/Office2011/ which you can then copy to any of your other Macs. The total download size is 1.16 GB (aka 1.08 GiB or 1,157,294,708 bytes) as of today. The length of time for the install process depends on your network speed. The entire process can be left completely unattended after it is started. Once you start the script, it will download everything that you need directly from Microsoft's servers and install all of them for you. You do not need your installation DVDs or to have downloaded the latest updates. The best part of the script is that it does not require you to have any of the necessary parts. So I wrote a shell script because that's what I do to solve these sorts of problems. I own Microsoft Office 2011 and wanted to make the process of installing it easier, since I own several Macs and have this habit of reinstalling OS X frequently.

If any of these ESU key not found, then report as non-compliant. Note: The PowerShell script that I have used in the baseline will check if the device activated with 1 year or 2 year or 3 year ESU key and report as compliant. You will need to do this task twice because there are 2 baseline files available 1) for windows 7 and 2) for server 2008/R2. Go to your configuration manager, configuration baseline, right-click, and import configuration data. After you download, you need to extract it to get. This is a ZIP file which contains 2 baseline policies. Download the configuration baseline file ( SCCM Baseline for ESU Activation.zip) from Github. You can use this guide to create the collections.Ģ. Create a collection for all windows 7 and windows server 2008/R2. What other options do we have without bloating the database? A simple and easier method is compliance settings. The above command will generate a lot of data that is not required for us. Get-WmiObject -query "select * from softwarelicensingproduct" I DO NOT recommended option 1) because SoftwareLicensingProduct class contains a lot of data that will be collected from all devices along with activation information which will bloat your database.Ī simple example is, on your Windows 7, open PowerShell command and run the following syntax to see the data that is available in SoftwareLicensingProduct So to check the activation status, we can use 1) Enable the Software_licensing_product in client inventory settings (hardware inventory) 2) Use compliance settings to detect the ESU activation status and 3) script If you know where does the ESU information stored in WMI, it would be easier for us to use configuration manager to gather data for further analysis.īy default, SCCM clients do not send the information about this class SoftwareLicensingProduct hence if you try to create a collection or query database using this class, you get empty results. If you have installed the ESU key on the windows device, the information gets stored in WMI class called ‘ SoftwareLicensingProduct’ This monitoring will help you take action on the missing ESU devices to avoid the possible threats. In this blog post, we will see how to check the activation status of ESU on windows 7 and server 2008/R2. There are multiple posts on the internet on how to install ESU. Returning characters from the original FMA, such as Mustang and Scar, are much more awesome and developed due to the fact that Brotherhood is 100% faithful to the manga. I think the new antagonist is an improvement on the original FMA, as this person has a much stronger and clever link to the Elric brothers' father. For me, the Xingese characters in particular (Ling Yao and Mei Chang among others) provide a new dimension to the FMA world, by showing us a different culture to the militaristic one we're familiar with. New characters include a group of people from Xing (a neighbouring country), another person from the Armstrong family (who I think has become one of the coolest members of the supporting cast), and a new main antagonist. The majority of the spotlight is still on the two brothers, but it highlights their interactions with new characters which were not present in the original anime. Moving on to the characters (best thing about this series), the original FMA focussed mainly on Ed and Al and on their struggles to regain their bodies, whereas Brotherhood also explores other characters to great detail at the same time. This becomes less of a problem as the series progresses, with plenty of new music being introduced to support the story as it reaches the finale. The background music which play during the episodes usually fit very well with the situation, although some tracks seem to be overused a little at first. The majority of the openings/endings are a pleasure to watch due to fantastic animated sequences and theme songs. The voice acting is of an excellent and consistent quality, and I think that pretty much all the characters have voice actors which suit their personalities. The various battles are consistently exciting to watch, but somehow get even better towards the end of the series. The action scenes are brilliant and VERY well animated, with a variety of alchemy techniques and other talents being displayed nearly every episode. The facial emotions of the characters are also perfectly presented. Compared to the original FMA it's a bit simpler but that's just because the original set a very high standard to follow. The animation in FMA Brotherhood is crisp and very well done (although it does sometimes dip a bit in quality). By the final episode, all loose ends are neatly tied up and what's left is a hugely satisfying epilogue. The plot is full of clever ideas and unpredictable twists that link various parts of the story together. However, after trying to look at it from the perspective of someone who's new to FMA (not comparing it to the manga nor the original), I believe that the pacing works and it manages to tell an intriguing story effectively with little confusion. Events that took up half a volume of the manga and had spread though a few episodes of the original anime were now shown in just a single episode. I admit that as I've seen the original and read the manga, the pacing of Brotherhood seems to start off being VERY fast (I finally got used to the pacing after That myth should be dispelled, as there's only one word to describe this series - EPIC. Brotherhood is meant to be a remake of the original, this time sticking to the manga all the way through, but there were people who thought it would spoil the franchise. After years of training, the Elric brothers set off on a quest to restore their bodies by locating the Philosopher's Stone-a powerful gem that allows an alchemist to defy the traditional laws of Equivalent Exchange.Īs Edward becomes an infamous alchemist and gains the nickname "Fullmetal," the boys' journey embroils them in a growing conspiracy that threatens the fate of the world.įirst of all, I have seen the original FMA and although it was very popular and original, the pacing and conclusion did not sit too well with me. Known as a bio-mechanical engineering prodigy, Winry creates prosthetic limbs for Edward by utilizing "automail," a tough, versatile metal used in robots and combat armor. The brothers are rescued by their neighbor Pinako Rockbell and her granddaughter Winry. Instead, they suffered brutal personal loss: Alphonse's body disintegrated while Edward lost a leg and then sacrificed an arm to keep Alphonse's soul in the physical realm by binding it to a hulking suit of armor. Ignoring the alchemical principle banning human transmutation, the boys attempted to bring their recently deceased mother back to life. After a horrific alchemy experiment goes wrong in the Elric household, brothers Edward and Alphonse are left in a catastrophic new reality. 9/20/2023 0 Comments Perish synonymsI'm happy I read it, since I suspect it might get better over time, but the current run is mediocre. There is some potential on display, but the early chapters are just not that impressive. I'm honestly a little surprised it made it out of the first year, since it certainly is nowhere near the quality of the other popular long running series in Jump. It was'nt bad, but it wasnt very good either. Mahito the villain is alright, Getou seems like he could get better over time. Yuuji is likable, Gorou is cool, but the author has'nt done enough to really make me emotionally invest in either of them, despite them having the most screen time of any characters. The cast is a bit smaller than most Jump series, but no one is really that interesting. Pretty glaringly a big weakness of the series. The art is probably at its best when drawing freaky monsters This is the first serialization of the artist, so hopefully it gets better with time. Its also damaged by running at the same time as some Jump series with much better art (Boku no Hero, Dr Stone, etc). I think in a series that relies on feeling stylish, the mediocre art really hurts it. You can always tell whats happening, but its just not that eye-catching or impressive. It also has a very fast start, which I am always put off by in Shonen (people feel like they need to rush to exciting parts in order to avoid cancelation, but it reallyy just makes everything mean less when it happens so fast). It also has a good long term conflict between main character Yuuji and the demon that possesses him Sukuno, but for now, the series feels lacking in direction. The lack of originality is unfortunate, but the story does better when dealing with character to character interactions. with some generous dashes of Yu Yu Hakusho. The setup feels as though its a bit cobbled together from other popular series, featuring a society dedicated to getting rid of evil spirits (Bleach), a school of talented young combatants (Boku no Hero), along Read it now, and enjoy the ride.įor those who are always on the lookout for the next big hit from Shonen Jump, they've probably been hearing about Jujutsu Kaisen, due to it selling fairly well for its early volumes and making it alive out of its first year of publishing, managing to avoid the early cancelation that kills most Jump series in half a year. We are not yet exposed to many potential story lines, and neither do we completely grasp the magic system (whcih definitely has hard rules) yet. The world seems not yet vastly explored, we've only seen two schools so far and have not seen the head of different jujutsu families yet. Additionally, the side story Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School is also a good read and helps you understand the world more. 70ish as we learn more about the things that went about. chapter 40ish, with great chemistry between characters, and then chapter But it picks up, alot.Įscalations mainly occured in chapter 14, as we deeper look into power systems. I would say the first few chapters of the series are very generic and is not as interesting as chainsawman. That's as spoiler free as I can give you. The series are for those who love hard magic systems, good world building and are willing to wait for stories to pick up. I gave this series a very high rating and probably one of the best new series, there with chainsaw man. Taking up this chance to make the world safer and live his life for a little longer, Yuuji enrolls in Jujutsu High, jumping headfirst into a harsh and unforgiving battlefield. Therefore, if Yuuji were to consume the many other remnants of Sukuna, then Yuuji's subsequent execution would truly eradicate the malicious demon. Being a rare vessel to Sukuna, if Yuuji were to die, then Sukuna would perish too. Though Yuuji can control and confine Sukuna to his own body, the Jujutsu world classifies Yuuji as a dangerous, high-level Curse who must be exterminated.ĭetained and sentenced to death, Yuuji meets Satoru Gojou-a teacher at Jujutsu High School-who explains that despite his imminent execution, there is an alternative for him. When high school student Yuuji Itadori finds a dried-up finger of the legendary Curse Sukuna Ryoumen, he suddenly finds himself joining this bloody conflict.Īttacked by a Curse attracted to the finger's power, Yuuji makes a reckless decision to protect himself, gaining the power to combat Curses in the process but also unwittingly unleashing the malicious Sukuna into the world once more. Supernatural monsters known as "Curses" terrorize humanity from the shadows, and powerful humans known as "Jujutsu" sorcerers use mystical arts to exterminate them. I also believe the owners of social media platforms should be punished for allowing this evil and hateful situation to be published on their platforms.
